Thank you for your prayers thus far for our Wycliffe and JAARS colleagues. They have been cycling from the JAARS center in Waxhaw, NC to the Wycliffe USA headquarters in Orlando to share the message of Bible translation with churches along the route.
Jon Barker, one of our JAARS riders, was involved in an accident this morning near Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, Fla., and will be undergoing surgery later today to repair damage to his femur and leg. Please pray for healing for Jon and safety for the rest of the ride team as they continue making the journey to Orlando later this afternoon. Jon will be joined by his family today as they are en route to Amelia Island at this time.We will update this blog once more details are available, but please feel free to leave comments and encouragement for Jon and the team here in the comments section of this post.

Will pray.
Lord, please be with Jon. Help the surgery go well, and please allow him to heal with no permanent damage. Please be with the family, and ease the stress they must certainly feel.
Please be with the team. Give them wisdom what they should do next. Should they continue riding, please be with their morale. Please keep them safe from any further harm.
We prayed for all of you today in our prayer meeting with the NC recruitment team and will continue to hold Jon and the team in our prayers.
Be strong and courageous for the Lord your God will go with you. Oh Lord, be with each one of these warriors for your sake and for the sake of those who are still waiting to know about you. Amen
Jon,
Please know that you are in our prayers. Personally, I pray your pain will be minimal, and your healing will be quick in miraculous ways. We trust that God will use everything that happens to you for extreme good. Thank you for your faithful obedience to be involved in this journey. Maybe this detour will be an opportunity to bring glory to God.
Hi Jon, I'm praying for you at Wireless Communications. Let us know how we can help.
Here's something to think about in your pain and recovery:
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Thank you, Father, for your loving care and presence with these cyclists. We don't understand the plan of Jon's accident, but ask you to bring your name glory through it. Give Jon and his family strength and endurance. Cause them to speak your name with boldness in every opportunity you provide. Please, Father, restore Jon to wholeness. Comfort Jon, the team and their families. Speak through all of them and surround them with your protection. Turn the hearts of the drivers to consider and show kindness to the cyclists. In Jesus name I ask these things.
Hey Jon,
I'm sorry @ your accident... but, this will hopefully highlight and bring greater focus to our friends without Bibles in their languages... I remember years ago traveling back to my hometown for a church missions conference and winding up in the hospital with resistant malaria... and the missions pastor told me that my suffering would get more attention and help more people remember the mission and true to the prediction, for years and years people asked me about my health... so be encouraged brother and use your hospital bed platform to spread the message.
cheers!
